What's New for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

German car production cycles typically run for seven years. What new things will this automaker bring to the market? Mercedes-Benz now offers the S-Class in two vibrant colors, Velvet Brown Metallic and Verde Silver Metallic. That would highlight the only new updates made to the exterior, but the inside shows you where the real updates come in the coming year. Mercedes-Benz redesigned its front head restraints to bring greater comfort, but even the back passenger seats feature cushy pillows of their own.

The tech distinguishes itself with new upgrades in the coming year, also. The Passenger Reminder feature ensures that you never forget your precious cargo. Besides the Passenger Reminder, the all-new S-Class offers some tech most cars won't carry.

This technology includes Active Steering Assist, Active Distance Assist, and Automatic Lane Change. The S-Class can perform a lane overtaking maneuver on its own if it meets specific parameters. Performance

Select the S580, and you can climb to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. If you choose the S680, the V12 engine will hustle you away to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Besides the expert acceleration, the S-Class gives you 16 mpg for city driving and 24 mpg for highway driving. Pop the hood of the S580, and you'll see an attractive 496 horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter eight-cylinder engine. Choose the S680, and you'll receive a 621 horsepower 6.0-liter 12-cylinder engine.

Every model from the S-Class features the 4Matic all-wheel drive, but what makes the S-Class a standout offer is the cushy ride quality and the near-silent cabin. Even cruising along at 70 mph, the cabin only records a low 64 decibels. To put that into perspective, that's about the noise of a conversation between two people.

Interior

Heaven on wheels is the only word to describe the interior of the S-Class. You sit down in a high plush, and deeply comfortable cabin that you soon realize only keeps getting better as you commute around Salisbury and Mount Airy. The premium texture of the leather seats, the cabin air ionization, and the abundance of legroom all lead to a sedan you love. You have the option to add in two power-adjustable and heated and ventilated outboard rear seats.

Safety Features

To start, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class starts you out with a host of driver assistance technologies. You'll receive things like lane departure warning, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
